Butterfly Garden

If ever you’re in Changi Ariport, Singapore. take the time to visit each of the three Terminals there, they have different special features in each one. Changi has free monorails that takes you from one terminal to another and amongst many other attractions, it also has the Transit Hotel where you can rent a room in six hour blocks so you can have a sleep and a shower in between connecting flights.

When we travel to Europe from Australia, it’s too long a flight to do it in one go, even allowing for a stop over. What we normally do, is book in the Transit Hotel which gives us time for a sleep and a shower before catching our connecting flight to our final destination.

You could easily spend half a day there without stress. Amongst all the other features it has,  the rooftop swimming pool and bar is a welcome one on very hot days. Remember to pack your bathing costume in your hand luggage, so you can have a swim and relax by the pool sipping a drink. For a couple of dollars you get a towel so you don’t have to pack a soggy one. Their bathrooms facilities there has showers and hairdryers.

It’s not a bad way to make the most of waiting for connecting flights. In our last trip, we planned to catch a later connection to the one normally made, just so we could stretch our legs, relax and enjoy the middle of our trip as well as its destination.

About Retired2Travel

My passion has been for many, many years landscape photography so when the chance came up to retire early, in order to travel, I took it! It made sense then to marry the two (travel and photography) and create this blog. I hope you enjoy it :)

This is amazing. As much as I hate connecting flights, this would make me book them intentionally just to get that experience.

  2. It really is worth stopping in Singapore for a stop over. We make the it part of our travel and find that we arrive far more refreshed at our destination. It really works for us!
