Hump Day Post: Tallinn, Estonia

Although we only stopped in Tallinn for one day as part of our Northern European cruise, it was enough for me to get a good feel for the place. I go a lot by ‘feel’ 🙂

One of the first things that was different was that in town, everyone can get free wi-fi, so no need to find a special ‘hot spot’ as the whole town is one BIG hot spot! That is fantastic for travellers and we were immediately impressed. The people were very friendly with a very relaxed way of life.

Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia. It has an area of 159 km2 and a population of just over 430,000. Estonia is situated on the shore of the Gulf of Finland south of Helsinki, east of Stockholm and west of Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Looking for lunch was a different experience as most small cafes had traditional food and seating was at a premium as a few ships where in on that day. Still, we managed lunch and shopping for presents – as you do. So, take a little look and it might wet your appetite for this wonderful part of the world.

About Retired2Travel

My passion has been for many, many years landscape photography so when the chance came up to retire early, in order to travel, I took it! It made sense then to marry the two (travel and photography) and create this blog. I hope you enjoy it :)
