Hump Day Post: Romantic Road

Whilst in Germany a couple of years ago, we did the Romantic Road tourist trip and we were delighted!

‘Rothenburg ob der Tauber is the quintessential Romantic Road town – a medieval walled town with timbered houses. Based (very) loosely on the old Roman route between the participating towns and adding in some stunning medieval locations to the north, the concept of the Romantic Road is a little bit like the British “ploughman’s lunch” – a marketing idea which appears to be based on history and tradition but which is actually a much more modern invention.’

But, as you can see, time forgot Rothenburg for just long enough ๐Ÿ™‚

About Retired2Travel

My passion has been for many, many years landscape photography so when the chance came up to retire early, in order to travel, I took it! It made sense then to marry the two (travel and photography) and create this blog. I hope you enjoy it :)

Great pictures – Bavaria is so beautiful! I remember visiting Rotenburg ~20 years ago. And it still looks the same. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • You’re right – Bavaria is beautiful. I think that’s part of its charm, 20 years later, it still looks the same. Hopefully in another 20 years, it will still be the same ๐Ÿ™‚
