Weekly Photo Challenge: Broken

This week, Cheri has challenged us to: ‘capture something broken.’

When I saw this home in the country this morning, I felt sad. It was in a beautiful location with lush rolling hills and I wondered what kind of home it had been.

How did it get to be like this? There was no sign of a fire and the wall structures seemed sound enough though the roof told a different story. Maybe storms had been through it – I’m guessing by the giant fallen tree in the foreground.

I guess I’ll never know its story but there’s a sadness there I can’t figure out 😦 Do you see it or am I the only one?

About Retired2Travel

My passion has been for many, many years landscape photography so when the chance came up to retire early, in order to travel, I took it! It made sense then to marry the two (travel and photography) and create this blog. I hope you enjoy it :)

  1. Someone planted that tree and someone laid each of those bricks and now together they are broken. Sad but good interpretation.
