Krista has challenged us this week to, ‘Focus on the win, the victory — that moment of glory and pride you’ll remember forever.’
This one is a hard one for me this week. I couldn’t think of any ‘Victory’ I’d achieved in recent times. Then, thinking about it, one victory came to mind.
Some of you know that we’d recently travelled around Australia for seven months in our caravan. During that time, there were many, many times when I felt that I wasn’t having fun or living my dream. The days were long with a lot of milage at the beginning and we just seemed to travel to a never ending ‘finishing line’. Sure, I know Australia is big, but driving right around its circumference was something I just thought it’d be fun to do. Let me tell you, Australia is BIG!
I lost count of the number of times I told Mr Oz that I wanted ‘Scotty to beam me up’ (from Star Trek) cos I wasn’t having fun. So, we kept adjusting our routine seeing what worked for me and what didn’t. So, little by little the spark appeared and as adjustments were made, the sparkles became more constant. After seven months, I was happy to have made the journey and seen the things I did. So, my victory was seeing the journey through without being ‘beamed up by Scotty’ and now as Krista has said, ‘It’s that moment of glory and pride I’ll remember forever.’
