Weekly Photo Challenge: Landscape

This week Chari has challenged to share a landscape photo. For this challenge, I’m actually submitting a Lakescape  🙂

I’m lucky – I live near Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia. Below is one of the many yacht clubs that are on the lake’s shores.

Lake Mac-2

Lake Macquarie (or Awaba) is Australia’s largest coastal salt water lake. It covers an area of 110 square kilometres (42.5 sq mi) and is connected to the Tasman Sea by a short channel.

Lake Macquarie is twice as large as Sydney Harbour and is the largest permanent salt water lake in the Southern Hemisphere.

About Retired2Travel

My passion has been for many, many years landscape photography so when the chance came up to retire early, in order to travel, I took it! It made sense then to marry the two (travel and photography) and create this blog. I hope you enjoy it :)

OK, first time I’ve heard of a “lakescape”, did you coin that term?! Either way your capture is gorgeous.

    • Hahaha, yes I have coined that term 😊 We have the other two obvious ones (land and seascapes) why not lakescape? Not all waterways belong to the sea… Glad you liked it though.

Great choice, Sonia. Beautiful colours, reflections and the effect of sky and water.
