Weekly Photo Challenge: Partners

So, winter has finally arrived down under. For most of us a chilly water temperature of 16℃ or 61℉ is enough to keep well away, but not so for these partners!

As I strolled along the beach fully decked out for winter with buttoned up jacket and hanging on to my scarf, there were plenty of warm-blooded surfer that treated it as a warm summer’s day!

Too chilly for me, I’m afraid!

About Retired2Travel

My passion has been for many, many years landscape photography so when the chance came up to retire early, in order to travel, I took it! It made sense then to marry the two (travel and photography) and create this blog. I hope you enjoy it :)

  1. We live about 25 minutes from an area where they surf year round. It always makes me smile to see surfers here while I’m sitting in my car with the heater running. Ah, youth. 🙂

  2. I was quite critical of the whole surfer persona until at university some of these “image seekers” surfed on extremely cold days in the winter!

  3. Brrrr… It’s also winter here in the tip of Africa and those surfers look rather brave. I stuck my hand in the pool this afternoon to see how cold it was and it immediately began to sting.

Aussie surfers are a dedicated bunch, aren’t they? Any weather, any season.

  8. They are indeed Ruth. My old boss used to be an all year round surfer. It was murder working in the office with him ‘cos he never felt the cold and would complain when we put the heating on. So we had to dress up for outside to work inside! Funny now, not so then…
